My name is Shayla and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker currently in the process of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I earned my master’s in social work with a concentration in Mental Health and Substance Abuse at the University of Texas at Arlington. My experience is mainly derived from the areas of abuse and trauma, addiction, and various mental health disorders including depression and anxiety. I enjoy working with individuals experiencing complex trauma, low self-esteem, stressful life events and transitions, emotional and behavioral difficulties, relationship troubles, domestic violence, are navigating motherhood, as well as any individual pursuing personal development.

It is my passion to help individuals better themselves. “Better” is subjective and that is what I enjoy most—working with clients to create specific and individualized treatment plans. Everyone’s story is different; therefore, everyone deserves a different way to write their story. In a safe and judge-free environment, I will empower you and encourage healing, confidence restoration, and resilience while equipping you with the necessary skills to reach your goals. We will work together using a variety of interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and multiple other techniques to best meet your needs.
